At the Game Developers
Conference this week, Sony shared its sales figures for the PlayStation Move to date. The
company called the peripheral and its motion integration with select games
"successful," saying they had shipped 10.5 million units since
launch. Field developer support engineer Gabe Ahn neglected to provide a
precise sell-through number for the Move, however. Regardless, Ahn confirmed
that Sony will continue to use the technology. He did not specify whether the
peripheral would be compatible with Sony's next generation home console or if
its functionality would be limited to the remaining life span of the
PlayStation 3. At the very least, we're sure to see more Move-compatible titles
in the meantime. Sorcery is the next game to be released with Move support. The
action RPG has been in development for three years and is slated for May 22.
